The real challenge in life is striking a balance between material pleasures and spiritual practices (abstinence/resistance to one's desires). Evolution has programmed our minds to constantly seek gratification and avoid pain, which is a fundamental survival instinct. As children, it's acceptable to let our minds behave impulsively, but as we grow up, we need to train our minds to align with our intelligence. Definitely! Delaying gratification will empower your brain, freeing it from constant survival instincts and cravings. I learned many valuable lessons later in life and started practicing good habits, doing my best to free myself from mental slavery and agony.
